0.5.0 Update


Dear Commanders,

Version 0.5.0 for SALVO has been released! This update includes addition of new features,  content and missions. This version contains new additions to gameplay mechanics - including multiple unit controls and carriers.


What's new



Carriers & Strikecrafts

The Proteus Class Fleet Carrier is now playable! With the introduction of the carrier class capital ship, commanders can now engage enemies with various types of strikecrafts. For more details, make sure to check out the Introduction to Carriers.


Improved Tactical Map

The tactical map (now called Planning Mode or PLN for short) received updates to make combat information more visible. In addition, camera controls have always been improved for the PC platform.


New Enemies

More enemy ships, some more dangerous than other, have been added to the game. These can be found in the new enounters missions.


Zone Assault

A new objective based game mode had been added. In this mode, a commander is to capture and occupy specified areas while preventing the enemies from achieving the same goal.


Modules

Module customization is now available in the hangar. These modules range from passive upgrades to unique active protocols that give a ship an advantage in combat.


New Missions

Three handcrafted, unique have been added to the Story Mode under Encounters.

IMPROVEMENT - mission objectives are now displayed in game

IMPROVEMENT - when moving through multi-pathing, ships will no longer stop on each waypoint

IMPROVEMENT - the camera in planning mode can now be controlled with directional arrow keys

FIX - enemy NPCs are now less likely to bounce around when spawned

FIX - wreckage will no longer deal collision damage

FIX - ships will no longer stop moving when exploding

FIX - turret firing effects now play consistently

FIX - turret damage is now reduced correctly by ship armor

FIX - grabber will no longer get stuck occasionally while picking up items
